This Just In:
The court called it unconstitutional and a deviation from years of high court rulings on abortion.
The court,in its ruling, permanently enjoined the ban and reversed the ruling of a federal district court judge, who had upheld the law passed by the Legislature in 2012 and signed into law by Gov. Jan Brewer. So, this is another victory for us. However, these cases are slowly making their way up to SCOTUS. Who knows how they will rule. Will Roberts be known as the Chief Justice who overturned Roe? For surely that will be his legacy, no matter what decisions he makes. Will Kennedy choose to have that legacy? We've already seen they are eager to side with the corporations, and there is a case coming in the new session which may obliterate the First Amendment and the Separation of Church and State. The Center for Reproductive Rights, which represented three doctors in the case, applauded the ruling, saying in a statement “it should send a clear message to anti-choice politicians that their attempts to deprive pregnant women of critical health care are clearly unconstitutional and will not hold up in court.”
So who knows?
If you are a praying person, now's the time.
