Help A Kossack Get To Netroots Nation

Hi all,

For those that don't know, this year I won a Netroots Nation scholarship. Thank you all for voting for me. The scholarship covers my hotel and registration.

However, I am responsible for transportation, meals, and other incidentals. At first, I thought I was going to be able to handle it because I thought I was going to be able to file for unemployment in the summer. I teach part time, so I get paid for days worked, instead of a regular contract. Which means, I don't get paid during breaks as other teachers would. Anyway, I found out my school wouldn't allow me to do that.

Add to that I won't be able to get help from my family--my mother was recently diagnosed with cancer, and she's going to have to take 10 weeks off work for the treatment. So no extra money coming from that direction.

I've set up an indiegogo page with all the information on it.

Every little bit helps, and if you live in NW Indiana, I would LOVE to be able to teach private lessons--all wind instruments, all levels. If I can get ten students, that's between $300 and $450 a week.

And any extra funds raised will go to my classroom. I desperately need mallets for some of my classroom instruments, and many of my classroom violins need strings. These are things my school can't afford.

Anyway, that's my story, and I hope you all can help.

Thank you all for your support, and I hope to see you all in Detroit.

In the meantime, please enjoy this video of me playing Ray Pizzi's "Ode To A Toad", recorded in concert last night.
