It's Netroots Nation Scholarship time again. This time, I've applied. I haven't in the past, because I haven't felt like I've done anything worthy of it.
This year it's different.
I have become a member of the Badass Teacher Association. As such, I have become quite the on line activist, participating in many of their daily and weekly activities to stop the corporatization of public education, which shamefully is being aided and abetted by our President.
Let's face it, having Arne Duncan in charge of Education policy is like having Joe the Plumber in charge of the American Medical Association.
Anyway, with a scholarship to Netroots Nation, I can help spread the Gospel of the BAT as well as do another important thing: I can talk up our National March for Education in July, one week after Netroots Nation ends. We will march on the Department of Education and have speeches, skits, and a general good time. The more the better.
Anyway, that's my pitch. Give me a vote and a chance to represent my kids.
