Thank you.
What else is there to say?
Thank you to all the Kossacks who voted in the Netroots Nation Scholarship voting. And thanks to you, I received one of the thirty scholarships.
I will be going to Detroit this year.
Hopefully I will use the time spent learning how to better be an on line activist for public education nationwide in the fight against corporatization and privatization.
I would like to be able to get the following questions asked as part of the national conversation: If these reforms are so great, how come the schools of the reformers' kids don't have to follow them? How come they're exempt from all the testing? And if the schools are so good, how come public schools aren't like those schools. with the same curricula and resources? One would think that if you want to be the best public school, you emulate the best schools out there, no?
Public schools need to remain with the People
Leave Education Policy to the Educators.
Once again, thank you all for the opportunity.
And let me leave you with this:
If anyone in the Chicago/Northwest Indiana/Southwest Michigan area is going to Netroots Nation and wants a ride, I can take 3 people comfortably. 4 packed tight.
